Marvel & Spider-Man

‘Spider-Man’ is Officially Coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have reached a deal to bring the web-slinger into the MCU! The first Marvel Studios produced Spider-Man movie will release on July 28, 2017 with Spider-Man appearing in an MCU movie beforehand. This has been a long speculated rumor but it has now finally came to fruition. This is a dream come true to Marvel fans, Spider-Man fans, and movie fans all across the planet!

It’s easy to disregard news like this since there has been a lot of pure speculation until this point but if you don’t believe me check out these comments on the announcement from Disney and Sony Executives:

Chairman/CEO of Disney Bob Iger:

“Spider-Man is one of Marvel’s great characters, beloved around the world. We’re thrilled to work with Sony Pictures to bring the iconic web-slinger into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which opens up fantastic new opportunities for storytelling and franchise building.”

Chairman/CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment Michael Lynton:

“We always want to collaborate with the best and most successful filmmakers to grow our franchises and develop our characters. Marvel, Kevin Feige and Amy, who helped orchestrate this deal, are the perfect team to help produce the next chapter of Spider-Man. This is the right decision for the franchise, for our business, for Marvel, and for the fans.”

This is probably the greatest news I’ve heard as a film fan in my life. I honestly don’t know how to express my excitement other than, OH MY GOODNESS WTF!!!!!!!! Sometime in the near future I’ll get to see Spider-Man team up with the rest of the Avengers in a future Avengers film. There will be more information coming soon, you can bet on that. But for now we just wanted to get the information out there.

Let us know what you guys think of this. Are you pleased as a comic book movie fan or does this upset you for some reason? Speak your mind in the comment section.
