While most people (women) went to watch Magic Mike for, specific reasons, the professionals actually thought it was a really good movie. Now it’s definitely a movie where opinions come to heavy play, but no matter they are, the reality is that the first made some of money. What’s that mean? Sequel, duh. Here’s the first teaser trailer and poster for Magic Mike XXL – oh that title…
Picking up the story three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, Magic Mike XXL finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel. But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them. On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.
If you put away the stripping, I agree with the pro’s that Magic Mike was a solid movie. But good movie or not, the appeal of this franchise isn’t the script/story and how good the execution is, it’s the fact that Channing Tatum and some dudes are dancing and stripping it up on the big screen. As for the trailer above, it has everything a good teaser trailer should be for a movie like this. I will most likely not be seeing this in theater, but will most likely see it at some point. And from the trailer above, it does tease me enough to see how the story of Magic Mike and his boys continues.
Here’s the first not so subtle teaser poster as well:
Magic Mike XXL is released on July 1st, 2015. Starring Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Amber Heard, Elizabeth Banks, Jada Pinkett Smith, Andie MacDowell, Adam Rodriguez, Donald Glover, Gabriel Iglesias, and Kevin Nash.
