If you enjoyed films like District 9 and Elysuim, then get ready to meet Chappie. From Neill Blomkamp (Director of all 3 films) comes a story about a robot named Chappie, who has the ability to think and feel like a human being. He’s the first of his kind and according to Professor Deon (played by Dev Patel) he is living proof of endless possibilities for robots. Of course this magnificent achievement comes with major consequences,Ā as veteran police officer Vincent (played by Hugh Jackman) and a powerful corporate woman (played by Sigourney Weaver) see dangers in Chappie, and others that may follow. This leads to Chappie and company on the run avoiding the dangers coming their way, as they fight for his right to live. Chappie is described as a remarkable story that will change the way we look at humans and robots forever.
If you seen the first trailer for Chappie, you probably thought this could be a cute robot story. Then the second trailer releases and totally just changes what we might have expected. Although this trailer might show a bit too much, it shouldn’t keep you from watching the film. Neill Blomkamp has a talent for Sci-Fi films, which happen to send a powerful message in them. I feel like we don’t need anymore trailers after this one, I’m ready to watch this film.
Chappie releases in theaters on March 6, 2015
