‘Cinderella’ (Live-Action) Trailer & Thoughts

In Theaters this March.

The story of Cinderella is one most people are familiar with. Even if you’re not a young girl, who can directly relate, you most likely know the mythology of the classic fairy tale. On March 13 of 2015 we will get a brand new live-action adaptation of the story, starring Lily James as Cinderella, Kate Blanchett as Lady Tremaine, and Game of Thrones star Richard Madden as Prince Charming while being directed by Kenneth Branagh (Thor, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit).

Some people might be fatigued by the story of Cinderella since we’ve had several movies and TV shows that have been either direct adaptations or merely based on the idea of Cinderella. However, we haven’t had one with both a massive budget and the technological advancement we have today. From the looks of this trailer it seems like we will get a “real life” look at the wonders of the Cinderella story with more compelling visuals than we’ve ever had the chance to see. Things such as the mice turning into horses and all of the other magical elements should look really cool in live-action with today’s advancements. That’s why I’m okay with yet another telling of the Cinderella story, which hopefully will be good and then we won’t need to see another one for a long long while.

A lot of these newer versions of the classic fairy tales have been putting twists on the original story. For example, Maleficent put a twist on the “true love” kiss in the Sleeping Beauty story. Maybe this Cinderella will do something similar and give us a fresh look at a very well known tale.

Although I’m not super excited for this new Cinderella, I will still be seeing it come March. Does the trailer peak your interest at all or are you sick of this story being told over and over again? Let us know in the comment section.
