The Jungle Book is without a doubt one of the most loved animated features of all time, and a huge personal favorite of mine. Now there aren’t just one, but two live-action versions on the way. The Andy Serkis directed one (which I’m stoked for) just got delayed a whole year, not a major reason why. The other is being directed by Jon Favreau, and it’s alive and on its way for next fall, here’s a first look via concept art.
Here’s a simple synopsis:
An orphan boy is raised in the jungle with the help of a pack of wolves, a bear, and a black panther.
If you haven’t had a chance to watch the original animated movie, I highly recommend watching it, at least before seeing the live-action versions. For me, it will always hold a special place in my heart, it’s one of those movies I grew up one – so it’s safe to say I’m pretty excited for a live-action adaptation.
Here’s the first official logo and concept art:
The Jungle Book has a October 9th, 2015 release date. Directed by Jon Favreau starring Scarlett Johansson, Bill Murray, Christopher Walken, Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley, Lupita Wyong’o, Giancarlo Esposito, and Neel Sethi.
