Through the first trailer and the few behind-the-scene clips we’ve gotten for Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, we’ve really only gotten head shots of Tony Stark’s new Iron Man armor for the sequel to the biggest superhero movie of all time. But now, that has changed! Hot Toys has debuted the look in new images for their latest Iron Man action figure.
So far, a full shot of the armor is only slightly scene in the extended trailer for Age of Ultron. But luckily of us, Hot Toys has given us some AWESOME looks at the Iron Man Mark XLII Armor that Tony Stark will be wearing to battle Ultron this coming may.
Hot Toys debuted the images via their Facebook page, along with this statement:
“The movie-accurate Mark XLIII Collectible Figure is highly detailed and specially crafted based on the image of Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark/Mark XLIII in Avengers: Age of Ultron, featuring a newly painted Tony Stark helmeted head sculpt, metallic red, gold and silver armor with weathered effects, LED light-up functions, and a specially designed diorama base with a damaged Ultron Mark I. A special edition will be available for selected markets which includes a LED lighted battle damaged helmet as bonus accessory.”
I’ve got to say, it’s pretty awesome. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Iron Man 3 armor, the color scheme was just backwards for me. But this, this is just badass! The color scheme is the exact kind of ‘upgrade’ that Stark’s armor should have. The first suit from Iron Man will always be special, but my favorite so far is the suit from The Avengers because of the ‘bulkiness’ it had. It was war ready, big and bad. But the Mark XLIII above, I think it might move right behind the Mark VII armor. I’m excited on all kind of levels to see what kind of tricks Stark shows off this time! And hopefully we see the suit in action more, unlike IM3 (in Joss I trust).
When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
