First Look: Dwayne Johnson Is a Rescue Chopper Pilot for 'San Andreas'

Dwayne Johnson in 'San Andreas'It’s not normal that we find things that scare or threaten Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, unless you dip into the fantasy realm that is. But realistically, it’s hard to come by. In San Andreas, Johnson is up against ‘The Big One’, a massive earthquake that rocks much of the Southern West Coast – check out the first images below.

In this new disaster thriller, Johnson plays Ray, a rescue chopper pilot who is cut off from his daughter Blake (Alexandra Daddario) when ‘The Big One’ hits California. With Los Angeles and much of the Southern West Coast in rubble, Ray will have to team up with his ex-wife Emma (Carla Gugino) to rescue their San Francisco stuck daughter.

Here’s the first images:

Johnson had this to say with USA Today, who debuted the images:

“It all goes down. The damage, destruction, the loss of lives. Everything that you know on the West Coast doesn’t see tomorrow.”

As well as this on his newly found respect for the planet’s power:

“Now we have multiple earthquake kits at home. And when you realize the magnitude of this, you go home grateful for the days you have. It gives you a different perspective. It makes you stop and think that there’s no beating Mother Nature. She’s the toughest mama around.”

I don’t know about you, but from Johnson’s comments it sounds like San Andreas is going to be crazy, awesome, and full of all kinds of chaos. If you want more from Johnson and Director Brad Peyton, head over to USA Today with the link above.
