‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Teaser Trailer Review

“There’s been an awakening. Have you felt it?”, says an unknown voice in the background. Glimpses of things that look all too familiar, from the miles of sand to people and soldiers in familiar attire, riding vehicles, piloting X-Wing fighters, and Storm Troopers looking more dangerous and real than ever. “The Dark Side and the Light”, says the voice which is followed by a new Sith who truly looks like its on a mission to destroy. Then there’s a spectacular shot of the Millennium Falcon doing aerial maneuvers to combat opposing tie fighters. Something legendary has truly awakened. That awakening is the return of Star Wars with the long awaited teaser trailer for Episode VII.

I’ve seen this teaser trailer bout five times now and each time has got me more and more excited for its year’s away release. Seeing that Star Wars Ep. 7 does in fact release December 2015, I can understand why I was left wanting more. No glimpses of Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, or Harrison Ford, but if you’re a Star Wars fan then you know they’re coming.

This trailer definitely wanted to introduce us to a new generation of characters as evidenced by actors John Boyega (in the Storm trooper outfit), Daisy Ridley (riding the huge vehicle), and Oscar Isaac (piloting an X-Wing Fighter). The sound effects in the trailer are ones you cannot mistake. The vehicles, ships and, that droid are all Star Wars sounds. Everything that was dangerous in previous films (Storm Troopers, Sith Lords) looks even more dangerous in this teaser trailer. Then of course, the return of the Millennium Falcon, which can only mean the return of a fan favorite.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens has plenty more to reveal in a year’s time, but for now we get to watch this great teaser over and over again because its Star Wars.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens releases on December18, 2015
