We saw Hugh Jackman take to his social media sites to show off his new look for the role of Blackbeard in the Peter Pan re-imagination Pan. Joe Wright is doing the project with Garrett Hedlund, Rooney Mara, Amanda Seyfried, and Levi Miller as Peter Pan all joining Jackman. Damn good cast huh? It’s not due out until next summer, but until we get any kind of teaser or full trailer, here are the first official set of images and character posters for Pan, no doubt showing off some important characters.

From what I’ve read, Pan is very much a different take on the well known story we all know. Instead of Captain Hook being the main antagonist, it’s Hugh Jackman’s Blackbeard – the famous private who leads a flying ship that’s used to steal orphans. That doesn’t mean Captain Hook isn’t in the story, because he is, he just isn’t a Captain (yet) or repping that hook we’re used to (yet). Quite possibly an origin story for the character leading into future movies? With a cast like this and the very creative Joe Wright at the head, I’m definitely hoping Pan can be something a little more than the previous live-action Peter Pan movies we’ve gotten.

As excited as I am to see Jackman as Blackbeard, I’m very much looking forward to both Hedlund and Mara in their specific roles. I’m a fan of both and they should bring some pretty cool things to the film. Check out their looks below.
