Ridley Scott is a Director who has brought us some of the best classics of our time. Alien, Bale Runner (for most at least), Gladiator, and Black Hawk Down are just a few. But as of late he’s been on a run of stinkers, kind of taking that ‘benefit of the doubt’ card away. Now so far Exodus: Gods and Kings looks like it has the chance to be (hopefully) damn good on a highly epic scale. Until that’s proven, here’s a set of new posters to get you ready.
The story of Moses is known all throughout the world, it’s probably the one story that everyone knows. So there needs to be no introduction to this movie, other than that this will follow (be based off of) that story. But more than that, expect this to follow the relationship between Moses and his non-blood brother Ramses, on top of hundreds of thousands of slaves being freed during deadly plagues.
I don’t know how I feel about this one. Yeah it’s Ridley Scott and yeah it’s Christian Bale and Joel Egerton among others. But I would’ve rather seen it not so white washed. Meaning, I would’ve rather seen true Egyptians or that vicinity play these roles – instead of a Brit and Aussie. Either way, if I like the movie I like it and if I don’t I don’t.
Exodus: Gods and Kings opens in theaters on December 12th, 2014. Directed by Ridley Scott starring Christian Bale, Joel Edgerton, Sigourney Weaver, John Turturro, Aaron Paul, Ben Kingsley, Indira Varma, and María Valverde.
