Warner Bros is looking to add another major casting to their super villain team up. Deadline is reporting that the studio is looking to bring Jessie Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor character into their Suicide Squad film. The report doesn’t mention what exactly Lex Luthor’s role will be. Should negotiations for the role strike a deal; Eisenberg could potentially be joining a cast that includes Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and Tom Hardy.
The studio seems confident in what they’ve seen so far in Eisenberg’s portrayal of Lex with their attempts in adding him more into their growing cinematic universe. If audiences end up liking this Lex Luthor character, then this will be a great addition to Suicide Squad. As far as his role is concerned, I don’t necessarily see this version of Lex out there fighting with the team. I imagine him being more a side character pulling strings in the background.
I have a lot of conifidence in Jessie Eisenberg giving us a great Lex Luthor. The actor currently is filming Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and is expected to appear in Justice League Part I & II, along with Now You See Me 2 which starts filming at the end of the year. Would this casting make you excited for this film?
Suicide Squad will be directed by David Ayer and is set to open on August 5, 2016.
