Since his first lead in Thor, Chris Hemsworth has been one actor everyone wants to work with. Since then, he has branched out and showed off every talent he has, doing sci-fi, action, adventure, horror, and comedy – becoming one of the best actors in Hollywood. And we all know what Ron Howard can do, he’s one of the best in the business today. They have re-teamed to take on the epic tale of the first encounter of Moby Dick.

Ron Howard is a personal favorite director of mine, he has made some of my all time favorites. Movies like Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, Cinderella Man, and Rush. It’s safe to say, I look forward to any movie he’s attached to. So I guess you could say I’ve been looking forward to In the Heart of the Sea for a while now, sure helps when it’s Thor going up against Moby Dick!

Also, the first trailer was released and to me, it does exactly what a trailer is suppose to do. Reel’s you in to get you excited, but keeps so much back at the same time. Here’s that and an official synopsis:

Based on the 1820 event, a whaling ship is preyed upon by a sperm whale, stranding its crew at sea for 90 days, thousands of miles from home.

I can’t wait for this one. As of late, I’ve kind of grown tired of the usual action or adventure movie. Every once in a while we’ll get a ship movie like Pirates of the Caribbean or something, maybe even one that’s good. But Ron Howard seems to always take on passion projects and bring something different to the screen than what is being pushed out at the time. So this is definitely one that everyone should be looking forward to come next year.
