First Look: Will Smith & Margot Robbie in 'Focus'

Will Smith is one of the best actors in Hollywood today, being incredibly versatile. And even though he’s kind of disappeared over the last few years, it’s always interesting to see his movies. While Margot Robbie has been on the rise over those few years, picking great and different roles to show off the real talent she has. Now they come together for a ‘comedy-caper-love story’ titled Focus, here’s the first images.

This will be Smith’s first R-rated movie since Bad Boys II back in 2003, and including the pairing with someone like Robbie makes this movie very, very interesting and intriguing to me. Robbie has showed that she is willing to do very different roles while making really good choices at the same time. Plus, being that this is the first R-rated movie in over 10 years for Smith means that their could (and hopefully) be something pretty special about it.

Here’s an official synopsis:

Will Smith stars as Nicky, a seasoned master of misdirection who becomes romantically involved with novice con artist Jess (Margot Robbie). As he’s teaching her the tricks of the trade, she gets too close for comfort and he abruptly breaks it off. Three years later, the former flame—now an accomplished femme fatale—shows up in Buenos Aires in the middle of the high stakes racecar circuit. In the midst of Nicky’s latest, very dangerous scheme, she throws his plans for a loop…and the consummate con man off his game.

Now that the first images are up, the first trailer should be out pretty soon and that will definitely give us a lot more on the movie. I would love to see Smith get back to his acting ways. And Robbie is becoming a mainstay in Hollywood, with her break-out and absolutely fascinating performance in The Wolf of Wall Street last year alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. Plus she is very, very easy on the eyes so that always helps.

Focus opens on February 27th, 2015. Starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and Rodrigo Santoro.
