First Images for 'Tak3n' Have Arrived

Liam Neeson in 'Taken 2'Even though Liam Neeson’s Taken is one beloved action film, many people (myself included) did not like the sequel whatsoever. It was basically a copycat of the original, just flipping a few characters around. But Taken 2 made a butt load of money, which is almost a guarantee that there will be another sequel, whatever the consensus was. It did lead to a threequel and its first images have been revealed giving us a first look.

Below we can see franchise leads Liam Neeson and Maggie Grace back for the threequel. Along with newcomer Forest Whitaker, who hopefully can add something to a franchise that should’ve ended after the original.

Here they are:

Neeson is returning as Bryan Mills, the ex-CIA agent with a ‘particular set of skills.’ But there will not be any ‘taking’ or kidnapping this time around as Neeson jokes in an interview with USA Today, “If my daughter was ‘taken’ again on a trip, Bryan Mills would have to be certifiably locked up for bad parenting.” Instead, Mills finds himself in danger when he’s framed for the murder of someone close to him. He had this to say, “I have to go on the run, I’ll put it that way, from the not-so-lawful types and the lawful authorities. Bryan Mills served his country faithfully, but now even they are after him. They must not like me.”

Grace is returning as Mills’ daughter Kim, where it will be interesting to see how big of a role she actually has in the movie since it sounds like it focusing heavily on the chase of her father. Whitaker joins as a law enforcement agent who will be in pursuit of Bryan.

As for the future of these movies, their leading man believes this is the close out movie, and one that will have the franchise end on a high note. Neeson and this to say, “It’s a rollicking good story, but I think this is the end.” That’s funny, I remember hearing that with Taken 2.

Tak3n opens on Januaray 9th, 2015. Starring Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace, Forest Whitaker, Famke Janssen, Sam Spruell, and Dougray Scott.
