Katniss Is the Girl on Fire!

Over the last few weeks, we have seen a various amount of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 promos come out. From President Snow to the Rebellion Army – but only one of the Mockingjay herself and just of her backside. Now it’s Katniss time to shine! As the girl on fire was finally released in an all new and awesome looking poster.

‘No one else can do this but her. We need to unite these people, she is the face of the Rebellion.’ Those are words spoken by the late Philip Seymour Hoffman’s character in the firs teaser trailer for Mockingjay – Part 1. The trailer could have stopped there and we would have all been extremely satisfied.

Those words were put there for a reason, to start something. Ever since that moment, we have seen a total of fourteen posters and none featuring Katniss facing us, just that beautifully looking poster of her facing away. I have been saying for a while now that when that moment comes, when they finally drop the poster that will be featured in theaters and websites across the world, the poster showing Katniss ready to fight, it will be huge. Well, it dropped this morning and I’ve got to tell you, it dropped big. Oh and it’s one beautiful and completely badass poster, one of my favorites of the year.

Check it out!

'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1' PosterShe is seen in her new black archery/warrior uniform, putting her alongside the other Rebel fighter posters that have been released. Katniss has always been a fighter, but we have never seen this kind of Katniss before. Over the first two movies she has become a symbol, a sort of mascot for the resistance as they were growing. Now, instead of just being that symbol and joining their fight, she will be leading them into battle as the Mockingjay.

Oh but it’s not done yet! Along with the new poster, a brief teaser trailer was released with it indicating that a full length trailer will be hitting in five days. Let the countdown begin!

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 will open on November 21st, 2014. Directed by Francis Lawrence starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Toby Jones, Natalie Dormer, Willow Shields and Mahershala Ali.
