If you can’t out casting and J.J. Abrams set videos, we have heard nearly nothing for next year’s most anticipated film, Star Wars: Episode VII. There has obviously been tons of story and character rumors revolving around this big of a movie, but nothing close to official. Although this may not be official, it could be the first hard piece of evidence that will bring us back to the galaxy far, far away.
Over the last few weeks, a couple of pieces of (possible) concept art has been popping up around the web revolving around Episode VII. I posted the (possible) Han Solo concept art a while back (you can read it here), now there is some Stormtrooper concept art showing up.
Check it out!
So as you can see, there is a Stormtrooper and a Snowtrooper. These images have been out for a while now and there has been a ton of backlash on what the concept looks like because it is different from the classic version. People are asking, ‘if the original cast is coming back, shouldn’t the original Trooper as well?’
Here’s the thing, this movie is set 30 years after what happened in Return of the Jedi. The Empire was supposedly destroyed along with the second Death Star. But since we heard that a little sliver of the Empire did survive, wouldn’t the Empire and their uniforms, and their looks update or change in 30 years? This is exactly what it would look like and change to over a 30 year span if it was the real world and I’m okay with it!
I personally think they look freaking fantastic! The update is slight, but so awesome. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the armor looks like and hopefully, hopefully this time around the Troopers (storm or snow) will have a better shot.
Star Wars: Episode VII is in current production and will be coming to a galaxy near you on December 18th, 2015. Directed by J.J.
