“Coach is…a Father, Coach is…a Mentor, Coach has great power on an athlete’s life”, says Steve Carell as real life millionaire John du Pont, in the first teaser for Foxcatcher. He’s a person who loves the sport of wrestling and wants the gold medal. He’s also a bit crazy in the head if you haven’t noticed. Just in case you can’t get enough of these trailers, because Foxcatcher is a movie that you’re (like me) highly anticipating here’s another teaser trailer.
Directed by Bennett Miller (Moneyball), this teaser trailer is less chilling than previous ones because it doesn’t involve Channing Tatum as Olympic wrestler Mark Schultz smashing his head into a mirror several times. As Foxcatcher approaches it’s November 14th release date, the latest teaser focuses on Carell. He makes his intentions very clear, he wants the gold, he wants his athletes to succeed by pushing them (maybe too much), and he wants to give America hope. The conclusion of the trailer shows that at one point he achieves this, or at least is well on his way, by how the people around him are chanting his name. So what could possibly go wrong?
I guess we’ll have to wait and find out come November 14th, 2014.
