Arguably the most popular character in the entire Star Wars universe is Han Solo, who is set to make his return next December in the extremely anticipated sequel. Word of mouth is saying that Solo has a ‘gigantic part’ in Episode VII, including expanded roles for the Original Trilogy members (Luke, Leia, and Chewie) as well. Now some concept art and details for Solo have emerged, possibly giving us insight to how Solo with fit into the new movie(s).
Filming is ready to get back to work following the recovery of Harrison Ford from his broken leg, along with some interesting rumors floating around about his character. First, some concept art of Ford as Han Solo has been passed around the web of him in two different get-ups.
The first is very, very similar to what Han Solo was wearing in Empire Strikes Back on the planet Hoth. Many believe and are speculating that the Star Wars universe will be making a return to Hoth, as part of the production took place in Iceland. However, Badass Digest reports that it will actually be a different ‘ice and forest’ planet where the bad guys are building some kind of ‘super-weapon.’
The second design looks similar to a uniform a Rebel Leader or Officer wore in Return of the Jedi, maybe showing us that Han (and Leia?) have been leading pieces of the Rebel Alliance for these past 30 years.
Meanwhile, Badass Digest is also reporting some juicy Episode VII details on Han Solo. Check them out!
- He does hold a lightsaber again (recalling to the scene on Hoth from Empire Strikes Back).
- Solo is no longer the Captain of the Millennium Falcon (no word if a game of sabacc takes place).
- BD believes Oscar Isaac’s unnamed character is the new pilot of the fastest ship in the galaxy.
- Apparently Han and Chewie have gotten their hands on a Super Star Destroyer as their new ride.
