Over the last weeks or so, a good amount of stuff has come out for Marvel’s next gigantic superhero team-up – The Avengers: Age of Ultron. It including some awesome props from the movie set that can give us some pretty interesting insight, a closer look at the new character the Vision, and a set picture wrapping the films production.
These props in the photos below we’re actually presented in Hall H during the Marvel Studios Panel at San Diego Comic Con. I only recently got my hands on them. They show some pretty interesting (and badass!) stuff. First is a shattered Captain America shield, a shield that would fit perfectly for the footage that was shown in the panel at SDCC. As for the footage itself, I for one believe that the moment ‘Tony Stark is looking at Captain America’s shield and his fellow Avengers lying almost dead, destroyed on the ground’ as a vision or dream while in talk with Ultron during the film, something that won’t actually happen in real time.
The second prop is easily the best, as it shows the fist of Tony Stark’s oh so awesome ‘Hulkbuster’ suit that will show up in A2. It was confirmed in the footage at SDCC that Stark will in fact bring the Hulkbuster suit to life to battle his science bro Bruce Banner. As for what the reason is for their little battle royale, I’m sure that will be kept under wraps until the movie is released.
The last prop image is the most interesting out of the three, showing what could possibly be an early version of the A.I. Ultron. It has a good amount of similarities to Iron Man’s armor (which will be a stepping stone to creating Ultron), as well as repping the Avengers logo on the chest piece. There’s no doubt this Ultron minion or version of Ultron himself will be showing up in A2 next summer.
During the multiple days of San Diego Comic Con, Marvel did something extremely smart by releasing character posters for their superheroes that would end up becoming one big poster. Not only did we get to see the new members of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver alongside Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, we got the first look (a distant look that is) at Ultron’s creation and eventual core Avengers member, the Vision. It was a very distant picture and we only saw his back side, but now, now there has been a HD close-up of that shot showing extreme details of the Vision.
Now, this could easily be a fan-made image or something that has been altered in some way, so take it with a grain of salt. But there is something pretty interesting about – the colors, boots, and arm gauntlets are somewhat different compared to his comic book look. It will be very interesting to see what his full look looks like when we eventually see Paul Bettany as the Vision in an official released image or shot from a first teaser trailer that will hopefully come soon.
Here’s the HD up-close shot alongside the full Age of Ultron wallpaper where we can see the Vision in the background.
The last thing isn’t anything big, but a little bit significant. As of yesterday, Age of Ultron production has officially wrapped up. Joss Whedon took to his twitter page to post this photo of him on set, with no caption just the words on the photo itself. Whedon looks a little sad (rightfully so), as he sits on what looks like a Hellicarrier or possibly the new Avengers Jet? There’s no doubt that Whedon will no be hard at work in post-production and putting together the first teaser trailer that will most likely be out pretty darn soon. Disney’s D23 Expo is coming up here soon, so the thought is that much more will be released/announced there.
Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron will be released on May 1st, 2015.
