The new title for the upcoming Terminator reboot “Genisys” was revealed today. For awhile, I have been referring to the film by the long rumored title Genesis. Turns out the rumor wasn’t too far off from the actual title. The news comes announced officially from Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Instagram account, showing a photo of the action star, the revealed title, along with a comment from him (see below).
“Hasta la vista, baby. I want to thank the cast and crew of @TerminatorGenisys for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding. From our director to the producers, from the camera team to catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup – we couldn’t have done it without you. I can’t wait to see our finished project and I know we’ll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. On July 1, 2015, I’ll be back.”
Naturally, I ended up reading that entire comment in Arnold’s voice. I couldn’t help it. Anyways, in the Instagram post Arnold reveals that filming has officially wrapped and is on schedule for it’s July 1st, 2015 release date. Due to so little plot information, nobody outside of the studio knows exactly why the film title is spelled differently, yet it feels like a Terminator title to me. Some say that Genisys will be an alternate version of the Skynet corporation in the original films. Maybe the studio likes the title Genisys spelled better than Genesis. They wouldn’t be alone with that choice.
But what do you think Movie Talkers, love or hate the new Terminator title?
