Disney's 'Into the Woods' Images

We have seen many live-action fairytale movies in the past handful of years, including Snow White and the Huntsman and Maleficent. Almost every single one have just told one story, that’s what will set Rob Marshall’s Into the Woods apart from the rest. A musical that will cross paths with many characters from fairytale world.

Below we can see Emily Blunt and James Corden, who the story will follow, as well as Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, and Johnny Depp in their respective roles.

Blunt will be playing the wife of Corden’s baker character whom want to start a family. To do so, they must confront a witch (Streep) who cursed them. Along their journey they meet the likes of Cinderella (Kendrick) and her prince (Pine), the Big Bad Wolf (Depp), Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Rapunzel (Mackenzie Mauzy), and Jack (Daniel Huttlestone).

           

It will be pretty interesting to see how some of these actors/actresses can sing. We already know that Anna Kendrick and Meryl Streep both have great voices from past projects, it will be very interesting to see how Captain Kirk and Captain Jack Sparrow can carry a pitch.

Official synopsis:

Into the Woods is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. This humorous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel—all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch who has put a curse on them.

Into the Woods will open on December 25th, 2104. Starring Emily Blunt, James Corden, Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Johnny Depp, Lilla Crawford, Mackenzie Mauzy, Daniel Huttlestone, Lucy Punch, Christine Baranski, Billy Magnussen, Tammy Blanchard, Tracey Ullman, and Frances de la Tour.
