If a film happens to have Neill Bloomkamp’s name attached, immediately it catches my attention. As a Director, Bloomkamp has given us an incredible film in District 9. While his follow up film Elysium wasn’t as great, I still look forward to seeing what other sci-fi films he’s currently working on. His next sci-fi film Chappie is a story about a robot imbued with artificial intelligence who is stolen at birth and raised by two local gangsters. Not much else is known about the sci-fi film due next year. That being said, a brand new poster has been released for Chappie at the San Diego Comic Con.

Chappie boasts an incredible cast led by Hugh Jackman and featuring Sigourney Weaver, Dev Patel, and Sharito Copley who was the lead actor in District 9. X-Men: Days of Future Past Producer Simon Kimberg is producing Chappie and calls it the most provocative studio movie you’ll ever see. 

The District 9 director making another sci-fi action thriller about an intelligent robot stolen by gangsters, starring Hugh Jackman? Count me in. Hopefully we get some footage to go with this poster later into Comic Con.
