Next week is Comic-Con, the week after that is Guardians of the Galaxy, and next May we see the return of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Now we were all suspecting that Marvel would be releasing footage and looks of the new movie at Comic-Con, but earlier we got our first true look at Iron Man, Captain America, and Ultron together- now we get our first set of images in HD from the movie. Oh, and they are awesome.

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, the images below show a ton of the good stuff. It brings together all the main players again. We also get official confirmation that James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes played by Don Cheadle is in fact in the movie this time around. Now whether he will be in the fight with the team, we don’t know (word is that yes, he is and plays a pretty good part), but we do know that we will see him.

We see Hawkeye and Black Widow in action and quite honestly, they both look incredibly good. Hawkeye’s new suit is definitely more ‘comic based’ and it looks so damn good, plus Renner is just awesome in the role. Behind Cap, Widow easily looks the best. I always thought her hair was the best in the first Avengers movie and with her new updated suit, she looks more badass than ever (I could look at it all day). And now that she will have zapping batons as weapons alongside her Widow’s bite and pistols, I’m so looking forward to seeing her in action, plus Scarlet Johansson looks just as good or even better than she ever has – WOW.

We also get to see Banner and Stark in their lab together in Avengers Tower (possibly working on Ultron or Hulkbuster suit?). Captain America and Thor suited up and looking as awesome as always. Then, we get a solid looking shot of the newest members of the team, the newly broken out twins of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen. Finally, we get some behind the scenes shots of Joss Whedon directing his vision and seeing the teams suits all lined up together.

These are kind of what we expected from the first images but man it’s just freaking exciting as all hell. All I have is a big smile on my face, these images are just perfect. The Avengers is one of my all-time favorite movies and to see the first good looks of it’s sequel, I’m jumping for joy. I can’t wait to see what is released at Comic-Con next week and I just can’t wait to see the Avengers in action again next May!
