The fourth installment of the Mad Max is still a year away, even though most of the film has been shot for a while now. Before today, we have seen close to nothing of the movie. We have gotten more today than we have since the announcement of the movie. Earlier we saw the first color shot of Tom Hardy as Mad Max and our first look of Charlize Theron in her role thanks to the cover of EW, now we get more looks along with a synopsis.
I am absolutely ecstatic for this movie. Rumors are swirling, from those who have saw raw footage and test screenings, that the movie compares a great amount to the best in the series (so far) Road Warrior. If you haven’t seen that one, you need to. But it’s said the movie is basically one giant chase scene. That may sound like nothing or a little boring, but if you haven’t seen a Mad Max film before then just know now, that is absolutely fantastic news for a Mad max film.
Some newer images (thanks to EW) have been released after the EW cover this morning. They show the main players in Hardy and Theron, along with the supporting cast of Nicholas Hoult, Nathan Jones, Zoë Kravitz, Riley Keough, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. It also shows exactly what a Mad Max movie is about, post-apocalyptic desert vehicle chases with some thrilling action – check them out.
Official synopsis:
The post-apocalyptic action film is set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and most everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life.
Within this world of fire and blood exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order… There’s Max (Tom Hardy), a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos. And Furiosa (Charlize Theron), a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.
Here are some plot details as well:
Mad Max (Hardy) is caught up with a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by the Imperator Furiosa (Theron). This movie is an account of the Road War which follows. It is based on the Word Burgers of the History Men and eyewitness accounts of those who survived.
Mad Max: Fury Road is set to open on May 15th, 2015. Written and directed by George Miller starring Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Nathan Jones, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough, and Josh Helman.
