I’ve got to admit, I’m a complete and total sucker for war movies. Platoon, Saving Private Ryan, Lone Survivor – war movies seem to get all the excitement, happiness, and sadness out of all of us at once. Brad Pitt has been working on a war movie titled Fury for a while now, it’s due out later this year. It now has its first trailer and it looks like all kinds of epic.
‘Ideals are peaceful. History is violent.’
April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and out-gunned, and with a rookie soldier thrust into their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.
This is exactly what I have been hoping for from this movie. These men are battered and bruised from a long time of fighting. They have literally been put through hell and have stuck together. With the war coming to a close, these men and their tank are all that’s left. It looks full of amazing war action and a movie that can be driven by the emotions of war. On top of that, the five main men are absolutely phenomenal actors. Brad Pitt as the leader, followed by Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Pena, and Jon Bernthal. Honestly, this movie looks like it can take over a top spot as one of the best if not the best movie of the year and easily has taken over as one of my most anticipated films for the rest of 2014. I will be surprised as all hell if it doesn’t get nominated for Best Picture and Pitt isn’t nominated for Best Actor.
Fury opens on November 14th, 2014. Directed by David Ayer starring Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Jon Bernthal, Logan Lerman, Michael Pena, Scott Eastwood, Xavier Samuel, Jason Isaacs, Brad William Henke, and Eugenia Kuzmina.
