First 'Dracula Untold' Trailer: Luke Evans Becomes a Legend

'Dracula Untold' WallpaperDracula is one of if not the legendary monster in history. The first and most powerful vampire, the master of the bat, everything. We haven’t got a decent version of Dracula yet, that’s if you don’t count the supporting role in Van Helsing. Now that it’s learned Luke Evans will be bringing the monster to the big screen in an all new origin story, we’ve been waiting for a trailer and it has now landed online.

Official synopsis: Dracula Untold explores the origin of Dracula, weaving vampire mythology with the true history of Prince Vlad the Impaler. It seeks to depict Dracula as a flawed hero in a tragic love story set in a dark age of magic and war. Set to take place in Romania during the Turkish invasion, Vlad (Luke Evans) goes to the greatest of lengths to fight for his homeland – even if it means selling his soul and becoming forever doomed as a creature of the night.

I’m in, for multiple reasons. First, big fan of Luke Evans. I think he has killed every role he’s been in and now he finally gets a lead and it’s Dracula! I’m in. Second, it’s a total origin story and it looks completely awesome. It may even have potential for a second or third movie if it does well. Three, that bat action! Him controlling the bats and them just crush in Vlad’s opponents – now thats fresh and awesome!

Dracula Untold is set to open on October 17th, 2014. Directed by Gary Shore starring Luke Evans, Sarah Gadon, Dominic Cooper, Samantha Barks, Paul Kaye, Noah Huntley, William Houston, and Charlie Cox.
