With a year full of some damn good movies, the rest of these releases have a very high bar to reach. Two of those movies, Transformers: Age of Extinction and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, both come out in the next three weeks. Since they are both extremely loved franchises, everyone has high hopes for both. As part of the final marketing push, actual clips from the movie have been released to get us feeling awesome about what’s to come.
I’m a huge fan of the Transformers franchise. The second one was definitely a downfall, the first was easily the best and I’m one of those who enjoyed the third. We didn’t think we’d ever get another, but since each movie makes a crap load of money, it makes complete sense. But with Michael Bay back at the helm, I was very very skeptical and basically shaking my head at the idea. But each move and announcement that happens keeps getting better and better and making me feel that much better each time about it.
Cast choices, the story/plot, and FINALLY bringing in the fan favorite Dinobots. Each trailer seems like the movie will focus more on the actual Transformers and have the humans be the ‘supporting’ roles (HOPE SO), which the original trilogy failed at. Now an actual clip from the movie has been released, moving away from the big giant explosions and destruction and focusing on the more fun and comedy side that these movies can do so well – check it out below.
The reboot, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, to the original Planet of the Apes movies was a complete and total surprise to almost everyone. It was one of my favorites of 2011, starting off and setting up this franchise perfectly. The motion capture of Andy Serkis as Caesar stole the show, it was just incredible. We knew right away that we would get a sequel and everyone has been anxiously waiting for it to come. Over the last few months we have gotten some good looks at the sequel through photos, trailers, and TV spots. The seller was easily the last trailer, it may have been one of the bet overall trailers I’ve ever seen for a movie. It was that point where I said, ‘I’M IN!’ Now with it only three weeks away, they have released a clip of the movie. Showing one of the Apes (Koba, one of the leading Apes) interacting with a few survivors and what can happen when humans take this intelligent species lightly.
