Over a long, entertaining, and remarkable career, James Gandolfini portrayed characters in various types of roles. Mob boss, cop, a badass, a father, falling in love – he wowed us all for many, many years. With his death only a short time ago, we’ve seen a few of his final moments on screen. Now his last movie The Drop has a trailer and I’m sure there is no other role he would have wanted to go out as and us to see him in.
Official synopsis: The Drop follows lonely bartender Bob Saginowski (Tom Hardy) through a covert scheme of funneling cash, called money drops, to local gangsters in the underworld of Brooklyn bars. Under the heavy hand of his employer and cousin Marv (James Gandolfini), Bob finds himself at the center of a robbery gone awry and entwined in an investigation that digs deep into the neighborhood’s past where friends, families, and foes all work together to make a living no matter the cost.
It looks like a must watch. Yeah it is Gandolfini’s last movie we will see him in, but it just looks good. The cast looks superb and their performances look even better.Tom Hardy is always so damn impressive and putting him alongside a guy like Gandolfini, I’m 100% in.
The Drop will open on September 12th, 2014. Starring, Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, James Gandolfini, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Erin Darke, Matthias Schoenaerts, Ann Dowd, and Joh Ortiz.
