We have seen Dakota Fanning grow up on screen in front of our very eyes in such movies like Man on Fire, War of the Worlds, and the Twilight series. Over the past few years we have seen the youngest of the Olsen sisters, Elizabeth Olsen, put in an absolute stellar resume with incredible performances such as Martha Marcy May Marlene, Kill Your Darlings, and most recently Godzilla. Now we get to see these two young talents join together in a film about coming to age, sounds fitting right?
Lilly (Fanning) and Gerry (Olsen) are two New York City girls who make a pact to lose their virginity during their first summer out of High School. When they both fall for the same street artist, they find their friendship tested for the very first time.
I’ll be honest, I am not a huge fan of movies like this or near this kind. But I am a huge Elizabeth Olsen fan and I think she will be incredible for many years, and I haven’t hated Dakota Fanning so far so I am interested in this one. It does go towards one audience in the young coming of age girls, but the tests of friendship can relate to anyone. Plus, the performances by some of the cast will be enough for me to watch.
Alongside Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen, Very Good Girls features Boyd Holbrook, Clark Gregg, Ellen Barkin, Demi Moore, Peter Sarsgaard, Richard Dreyfuss, and Kiernan Shipka. It’s set to open on June 24th, 2014.
