News has hit on the Star Wars: Episode VII front and it’s a damn doozy. Oscar winning actress Lupita Nyong’o and Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie have joined the highly anticipated movie due out next year. At this point it’s all up in the air what roles they will be playing just like the rest of the cast.
I really have no clue what Christie will be playing, although it makes a lot more sense that she would be some kind of Rebel fighter or leader. For Nyong’o, my high hopes are for the lightsaber wielding Sith Ventress from the Star Wars animation series The Clone Wars. Having another threat on top of the already rumored roles would be fascinating to watch, especially having Nyong’o bring this very interesting and just flat out badass villain to the Star Wars Universe. Again, this is all just speculation, rumors, and my high hopes for what we’re going to see, but it is absolutely a possibility!
Star Wars: Episode VII is due out in theater December 18th, 2015. Directed by J.J. Abrams, starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher alongside Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Peter Mayhew, John Boyega, Max von Sydow, Daisy Ridley, Luptia Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Kenny Baker, and Anthony Daniels.
